Our Dripping Springs campus offers tuition inclusive of all lessons and program offerings. Your first month’s invoicing will be dependent on when you enroll. All subsequent invoicing will take place on the 1st of each month.

Your $40 non-refundable enrollment fee is collected upon submission of your enrollment form. Tuition is due on the first of each month and is paid by automatic draft from your credit card or bank account.

A late fee of $25 will be charged for accounts not paid on the 1st of the month.

Accounts not paid in full by the 14th will incur an additional $25 charge per week until the balance is paid in full.

An account is considered overdue immediately if the payment method on file is declined.

  • For students ages 4–17 being paid by someone other than a legal guardian: accounts must be brought current within 30 days or the student may forfeit their scheduled lesson time after 45 days.

  • For students 18+ being paid by someone other than the student: accounts must be brought current within 14 days or the student may forfeit their scheduled lesson time after 21 days.

Students are responsible for providing their own lesson materials. If this becomes a hindrance to progress, a $25 materials fee may be charged and materials will be provided by the teacher.

Each student agrees to weekly lessons. Students who need an exception to this policy can request one in writing to drip@bandaidschoolofmusic.com.

Tuition – Performance Classes & Showcases

Each semester all students are required to attend 3 Performance Classes: 1 First Performance Class, 1 Dress Rehearsal Class, and 1 Showcase Class/Event.

Our First Performance Class and Dress Rehearsal Class are held at our South Campus location. (2309 Thornton, Studio G & E, Austin, Texas 78704)

Our Showcase Classes/Events are held at a local, live music venue here in the Live Music Capital, Austin, Texas, giving our students the opportunity to perform on legendary stages for their friends, family, and the general public!

* While attendance is required for all students, they are not required to perform.

All performance classes take place on Saturdays, and we offer multiple time slots for each class to ensure convenience. If a student cannot attend due to travel or illness, we offer make-up classes for the Performance and Dress Rehearsal classes

We believe all of our students can learn a great deal by attending, observing, giving feedback and learning how feedback is given to their peers who choose to perform.

Attendance Policy

Our Makeup policies are designed to give you more control over your music education. It saves you time, eliminates the hassle of rescheduling, and allows you to share the gift of music with others.

When you give 24 hours notice to cancel a weekly lesson you have Three Options.

  1. Pass the Baton: You can have someone else take your lesson for the day. Share the joy of music with a friend, sibling, parent or neighbor!

  2. Zoom In: Join the lesson via Zoom if you can’t make it in person. Your lesson time is yours to use, and now distance won’t hold you back.

  3. Receive a Video: Your teacher will send you the lesson plan, notes, and practice instructions for your next lesson. You won’t miss out on learning, because your teacher will provide you with a video summary of your missed lesson so you know what to practice and keep creating momentum.

Performance classes, dress rehearsals, and showcases cannot be made up outside of the designated times offered for each event.

We ask for an extra level of commitment from our band students. Band students will not receive credits for missed sessions, since their absence affects the other members of the band. Please do not ask to make up missed lessons without proper notice.

You will not be charged for or expected to attend/make up the following days: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. If the teacher misses a lesson, a make-up lesson will be offered to you as soon as possible within the semester in which it was missed.

Practice Requirement

Students are encouraged to practice and to be prepared for each lesson. This avoids repeating the same lesson twice and increases the progress of each student. The amount of practice will be contracted between each teacher and student.

Student-Teacher Communication

Please let us know immediately of any problems you are experiencing. Our goal is to create accomplished, confident performing artists, and this often takes several years of hard work from student, teacher and parents. It is your responsibility to keep us informed of any difficulties the student might be experiencing at home. Open and direct communication is of utmost importance.

Teacher Agreement
with Band Aid School of Music

Our teachers are accomplished and experienced musicians. In addition, Band Aid School of Music invests a great deal of time and expense training our teachers to be the best teachers they can be. By checking the box on the enrollment form, you agree not to solicit for employment or employ any Band Aid School of Music personnel for 2 years following the expiration of this agreement, unless it is through this school. If you have needs that are not being met by your lessons, please contact us to discuss other options. We would be happy to work with you to develop the best possible learning environment for your personal needs.

Termination of Lessons

If you must terminate or miss multiple lessons after your 3 month commitment is met, we require you to submit a 30-day written notice of termination. Please notify your teacher and the admin staff. This transition time is especially important for young students who need more time to gain closure with their mentor/teacher. During those 30 days, we ask that both teacher and student create a positive and respectful ending to the artistic experience. Full payment of the 30-day period is expected whether or not the student attends the lessons.

Conferences

If you wish to speak with a teacher you may do so by phone, email or during your lesson time. Teaching hours generally begin as early as noon and extend as late as 9:00 pm. If you wish to speak to a teacher, please communicate with them directly. The teacher will return your communication as soon as possible. The best time is usually at the beginning or end of your scheduled lesson time.

Parent Expectations

Although it is our intention to inspire and engage each student immediately, younger students often take longer to get into a rhythm of practicing at home and quickly improving. By checking the box on the enrollment form, you’re committing to allowing your young student(s) to find the joy of music in their own rhythm and time, and to do your best to provide support without applying unnecessary pressure.

Media Permissions

Band Aid takes your privacy and the privacy of your child very seriously. We do from time to time use images, audio and video of students for promotional purposes. We do not use a student’s full name in our promotions. If you would prefer your child be excluded from our promotions, please email us at info@bandaidschoolofmusic.com with the title “Exclude From Promotions”.

By attending any of our programs you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. These policies are subject to change at the discretion of Band Aid School of Music.
