What are Band Aid Extras?
“Extras” is a broad term for all the workshops and make-up classes offered for the different age groups. Types of Extras include: Munchkin Make-Ups, Sound Checks, Challenges and Jam Sessions. Extras range from 60-120 minutes and cater to students based on age, instrument and skill level.
- Munchkin Make-Ups are designed for younger kids who are just starting out on their instruments or aren’t interested in a unique topic. We try to offer at least 1 make-up for each instrument per month at varying days/times since we know family schedules can be difficult to navigate.
- Sound Checks are designed for students who are intermediate or advanced and want to explore more of the music world. This includes topics such as history, genre studies, theory, and recording/producing.
- Challenges are designed for students who are intermediate or advanced and need a challenge to keep their inspiration and motivation flowing. These classes are meant to target specific techniques that will take you from good to great!
- Jam Sessions are designed for students who are eager to play with others. These classes are meant to be casual and fun! All skill levels and instruments are welcome (ages 14+).
Why take a Band Aid Extra?
As a performance-based school with a mission to cultivate a lifetime love of music in our students, Extras will help further that mission and strengthen your relationship with music! Unlike other music schools, we aim to create a comprehensive world-view of music, not your traditional stuffy private lessons. In our experience, pairing 1-on-1 instruction with group classes in unique topics helps to nurture curiosity, inspiration and motivation. Extras are a great way to tap into the knowledge and experience of our world-class staff of musicians.
How to Register
Current students
There are a few ways to register, and Extras are FREE for current students using make-up credits.
- Hover over Band Aid Extras in the menu and select your or your student’s age range in the dropdown menu. From there, just find the skill level (if you’re not sure, ask your teacher!) and follow the “Register Here” link for the Extra you’d like to register for.
- Similar to #1, find your student’s age and skill level. Then, go to the Parent/Student Portal, log in and click on the Calendar tab. Find the day of the Extra you’re interested in, click on it and then select Register.
- Or, email [email protected] letting us know which Extra you’d like to register for.
Newcomers
- Hover over Band Aid Extras in the menu and select your or your student’s age range in the dropdown menu. From there, just find the skill level (if you’re not sure, email us a video!) and follow the “Register Here” link for the Extra you’d like to register for.
- Then, head over to our enrollment form and follow the prompts!

Pricing
Extras are FREE for current students using make-up credits.
Extras for new/prospective students are $90.
Extras for current students NOT using a make-up credit are $40. If using as a make-up, no additional cost will be added to the next month’s tuition payment.
